Rosy

The sparkling room was awash with a rosy tint, making the beautiful faces of loved ones and friends even more enchanting and endearing. The clever design was of a jewel box and the wedding shower venue perfect for celebrating love and a bright future. Too long apart, we enjoyed the camaraderie and pure happiness to honor my niece before her wedding (two years delayed). It was a brief respite but impactful, as we joined together to symbolically put an end to the isolation. In that time, grandchildren have grown, loved ones have past, moves have been made, jobs have changed, illnesses have come and gone. It has also been time for graduates to achieve, babies be born, new friends made and purpose clarified. Thank goodness, even on a quiet afternoon, a statement is made as we declare that we will celebrate more and come together to love and be loved.

In the magical rosy room, our spirits lifted as we engaged, chatted and loved being out of our cocoons to celebrate romance and each other. Through the windows, pink perky cherry blossoms danced in the sun as if to join in the celebration.

Spring will now provide us all with more opportunities to lift our faces, take in the bright blue sky, breathe the fragrant flowers and feel the sun on our skin. We need this renewal and to be awash with a restorative glow. Patients are also bursting forth from months of treatment feeling refreshed and ready to make plans. Nothing is on hold anymore. Sweet Letty is pushing therapy out a few weeks to allow her to visit family in another country for the first time in 3 years….she will gain more healing from that visit than radiation can provide. I am proud of her for making her own decision and taking control.

It’s time to grab the reins and steer into the momentum. Wallowing is over and we are ready to claim today for ourselves. Even tragic Ukrainian towns are pushing back fiercely and inspire us that with iron will they can rebuild.

Stand in the rosy light of your own renewal and have faith this week heading into Easter that a light shines on your own life. As I write, newly out of his own cocoon, an energetic yellow butterfly whirls past. He looks so free and joyful. It doesn’t seem to have a plan for where it will light, but it still travels with determination, creating its own direction in the bright afternoon sun.

Today is a reminder that we have endured, so lets endeavor to embrace goodness and light at every opportunity. We can then radiate our own glow to help us renew ourselves and inspire others.
