Yes! You can break this down to “I -am- possible!” So let’s consciously choose to make that choice- no stunts involved. This week I am blessed to have a birthday- always a time to wax philosophical, so today it’s a simple message as a gift to us all.
As I cross the inter-coastal in the dark mornings this week, its ethereal. Ahead is the lighted massive iron cross erected as a memorial to the site where the first Mass was celebrated in the United States, September 8,1565. Further south is the St. Augustine lighthouse spinning its bright beam through the fog. Magical. These sights inspire a prayer for family, friends and the patients I will care for today.
Taking a moment to find inspiration in your day is easy and always available. It is a way to lift your own spirit and, just as the peaceful beacon of safety and direction rotates, goodness and light can return to you as well.
In a world and at a time with heavy hearts, it can be challenging to focus on the positive. Approaching life with innate concern for others is a good way to begin. Every single person in your life would be uplifted with your well wishes, your encouragement, your mentorship, your helpful unique perspective. Children, teens, college adults and even the elderly need a breath of fresh air. Let them gravitate to you. Not in a Pollyanna way, but quite simply by listening to them, engaging and being a firm, stable force in their life.
You can choose to become your own beacon of hope for others. Nothing dims your life, even cancer. You reach out your arms, your inspiring words and your hope and you change lives….everyday. Remember your courage and do not despair. You are needed. You actually do have a mission in this life. Be enthusiastic about everyday, every person you meet and every event and soon in return, your own spirit will be awash with a beautiful light. Each awakening is an opportunity for a new birth day.
